HOW TO CHOOSE EARRINGS

Generally speaking, diamond earrings or pearl earrings are the most dressy, and are also a popular selection for bridal jewelry. Stud earrings can be worn with most outfits. There are many gemstone earrings to choose from, that will match an outfit for day or evening styles. Emerald earrings, sapphire earrings and ruby earrings are among the most popular gemstones.

Sterling silver stud earrings are not fashion items and won’t date. Gold earrings are always in style. Larger earrings are better for dressing up an outfit to make a statement. Wearing your hair tied up and having chandelier earrings or drop earrings gives a glamorous impression and makes you feel good. Not everyone can wear large earrings - they can overpower the face and no one notices you, just the earrings.

Again, select diamond earrings or pearl earrings if you need a classy look, and choose gemstone earrings, such as ruby earrings, emerald earrings, sapphire earrings or garnet earrings to match your outfit for a great look. Here is a general guide as to the best shape earring to choose for your face.

Oval

Most earring shapes work well. Avoid long drop earrings that can elongate your face. Oblong

Wide, curved earring shapes will create width through the middle of your face. Avoid long, narrow or dangling earrings, as this will elongate your face.

Square

Medium size earrings, angular with soft corners work well. Avoid squares, round and too big earrings.

Diamond Earrings

Wear earrings with angles close to your face. Squares and triangles will work well. Avoid curved, long or dangling earrings.

Triangle

Choose earrings that do not touch the jaw line. Angular shapes that sweep upward are a good choice. Avoid curved shapes.

Heart

Select oval shapes that are broader at the bottom; this will add width near the chin line.

Round Earrings

Choose earrings with curved lines that are longer than they are wide. Avoid too big or round earrings. Longer or dangling earrings that are not too narrow will also work well.

This is just a guide. As always, whichever earrings you select there will always are some earrings that you wear a lot, and some earrings that you hardly ever wear. This should give you a really good idea as to which style earrings you feel comfortable with, and that is what is the most important. However, never stop trying on new styles.
